Introducing Ex Vivo: A New Voice at the Intersection of Medicine & Art

We're live! Ex Vivo Winter Edition has finally launched.

Your First Look at Ex Vivo

Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of Ex Vivo, the inaugural art magazine from the Hippocratic Collective.

Medicine happens in vivo - in emergency rooms, ORs, clinic halls. But what happens after? What happens when doctors, residents, medical students step outside sterile white walls and carry the stories of bodies, trauma, healing, and human experience into the world? Welcome to Ex Vivo.

What Is Ex Vivo?

A digital magazine publishing the work of residents, fellows and medical students at the intersection of medicine, art, and lived experience. We look for visual art, essays, poetry, photography, comics, memoir fragments, anatomical sketches, mixed-media anything that resonates with life inside or after medicine.

Why This Matters

The narratives of bodies, of hospital corridors, of what we see, feel and carry - they don’t belong in a vacuum. They belong in public. In print. In conversation with the larger culture.

Ex Vivo invites you to step outside as a creator, a thinker, a witness. To bring your voice, your vision, and show the world what you see when you leave the clinic.

Join the movement

You bring the vision. We make it loud.
