The Hive
From 0 to 1.6M: What a Month It’s Been
We launched the Hippocratic Collective just 30 days ago and it’s already clear: the medical world was craving something like this.
Since May 1:
We've grown to 5,000+ followers across Instagram and TikTok.
Our content across our social channels has been viewed over 1.6 million times.
And perhaps most meaningfully, we’ve heard from med students, residents, and seasoned attendings saying, “I finally feel seen.”
What started as a desire to give physicians a voice outside the white coat has quickly become a full-blown movement. One that’s equal parts creative, cathartic, and community-driven.
So What Is The Hippocratic Collective?
It’s a creative media company built by physicians, for physicians. We believe doctors deserve better. Better support. Better role models. Better tools to reclaim our time, creativity, and power. We're not here to tweak the system, we're here to transform it.
Our mission is simple. It’s to amplify physician voices, elevate creative stories in medicine, and reintroduce the human element so often stripped out by burnout, bureaucracy, and broken systems.
Whether it's through podcasts, creative writing, expression of art, in-person events, or some other outlet, we believe your creativity, humor, and lived experience matter and deserve a platform.

Tale of the Month
By Tyler Beauchamp, MD
This narrative series captures the emotional, messy, and often beautiful parts of life in medicine. One part fiction, one part reflection, it's a reminder that sometimes the best medicine is storytelling. Published once per month
Juliana Romano, MD
Juliana’s incredibly personal two-part series, I Hope This Helps, shares her journey through depression and recovery, offering a rare and courageous perspective on mental health in medicine. Her writing - honest, vulnerable, and deeply human - reminds us that behind every statistic is a story, and behind every physician is a person.

Artist In Residence
We first want to thank everyone who has submitted an application for the upcoming Artist in Residence program. We have truly been blown away at the sheer amount and diversity of talented people that have stepped forward. The recipient of our grant and mentorship program will not be announced for another few weeks, but we have already started designing additional ways to feature as many of these incredible artists as possible through other means. Stay tuned, more information will be coming soon.
And if you have not applied yet, and are still interested, submissions will remain open on a rolling basis throughout the year. So please get in touch!
Want to Get Involved?
One of the most humbling parts of this launch has been the number of physicians reaching out asking, “How can I contribute?”
Here’s how:
We’re building this collective voice together and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Until next month,
Chris Herring & The HC Team

You bring the vision. We make it loud.
